Gum Poles

We treat all our gum poles to SABS 457S H4 specification for use outside including ground contact. As a preferred supplier to many thatching contractors, lodges, and farmers our high quality gum poles are well known for their straightness, longevity and affordable price. They also get used as supports for elevated decking sub structures. Also available as untreated.

Comprehensive Overview of Our Treatment Process

Treatment Process

Dry lumber – or timbers, plywood, or poles – is loaded into the treating cylinder.

An initial vacuum pulls air from the cylinder and from the wood cells, making space for the preservative.

A dilluted solution of preservative is introduced into the cylinder.

Pressure pumps then force the liquid into the wood until adequate penetration is assured.

At the end of the pressure period, remaining preservative solution is pumped out of the cylinder and into a storage tank for later reuse.

A final vacuum removes excess preservative from the cells.  The wood is then taken out of the cylinder.
